I use Sure Cuts A Lot with my Silhouette Cameo. I have owned this software for seven years or so and have upgraded with each iteration. It is a versatile tool that allows me to format and cut many different kinds of patterns, signs, slogans, etc. It is especially useful for cutting stencils. Why pay to buy stencils when you can cut what you want in the size you want for your particular usage? Forget about Cricut—go Silhouette and Sure Cuts A Lot if you are interesting in cutting plastic, vinyl, paper, and other media for crafting!

We do not yet own an electronic cutting machine. So this is not a review.

The linked Craft Edge web site DOES say what machines are supported. And when we do get a cutting machine, it WILL be one of the ones they list as supported.

The customer hostile behavior others have attributed to Provocraft is, AFAIK legal. But is is ethically questionable. So, they clearly do not deserve our business. Still, neither political party seems inclined to fix this.

But we can all avoid their products.

I use an older version of the software with my wife's Cricut cutting machine and it works quite well. I've used it to cut a variety of vinyl decals using my own and other artwork. Provocraft, the company that makes the Cricut has taken legal action that forced Craftedge to cease selling the Cricut compatible version of the software and the newer versions work with other cutters like Craft Robo and others. To see a list of supported machines see the website.

Let's get to the point, shall we. This software is aimed at the people that use the Provocraft Cricut machine. It isn't some piece of advertising material. It does not insist you buy a "non product for a non market". If you don't like it DON'T BUY IT! My wife has a Cricut. She makes cards for all our daughter's friends. She runs craft events at church and other groups. We also had a time that we needed hundreds of circles for an activity at school. Yeah, scissors would do, but then again a pencil could do what most people use a computer for! Rant over, on to the software. All the "stencils" for the cricut are cartridge based. These can be over-priced, and often don't have what you require. That's where this software comes in. Take fonts or SVG images, plug it in and cut them. We have Phineas and Ferb on my daughter's bedroom door due to this approach. Think of it like a jailbreak for the cutter (... people don't slate redsn0w because of the price of the iPhone!)

Watch any early morning TV shopping channel and you will see the horribly over-priced Cricut machine being promoted by awful extras with amazingly artificial smiles and white teeth that would blind you from a thousand yards. This is a non-product looking for a non-market that does nothing more than drain the bank accounts of gullible people who cannot afford the dental care of the 'actors' who participate in the dreadful TV Ads. Believe me, I suffer from insomnia.
